I’m Coach NatalieJo and I want to help you too!

If this is not the first time you have visited my site you may notice I made some changes. Because of rule changes Health Coaches private sites must now be unbranded. No mention of the program names can be used. So this is now a generic site. Many of my past posts and audios are now only avaliable for my personal clients in the For My Client Only tab. They would have been too hard to remove all the trade names. Don’t leave just yet.

You can still gather a wealth of information from my posts and you can always contact me if you are interested in THIS PROGRAM. My clients will have full password protected access to all my resources that I have posted over the past 3 years.

I’m Coach NatalieJo and I lost 80 lbs and I have kept if off for over 2 years. Read MY Story from the tab up top. If changing your life is something you are interested in doing. I would love to speak with you and answer all your questions. This program works. It’s been around for 30 years. It’s a no brainer. You eat every three hours and have no hunger or cravings. You will be learning good healthy habits that will keep you on track for the rest of your life.

Contact me from the tab above. Visit my site for more information. http://nataliejo.tsfl.com

I look forward to hearing from you when you’re ready to make a change.

First let me say I don’t like exercise. I lost 80 pounds and have kept it off for over two years. That was my first journey and now I’m looking for activities I like to do to keep me in shape.

Recently I have seen a lot of talk about this new little pedometer the FitBit. People claim it gets them moving and working harder. I saw it in the Target flyer this week so I ran out and got one last night.

My first test was wearing it to bed. It tracks your sleep don’t ask me how. It said I woke up 5 times and I walked 46 steps. As far as I know I never stepped foot out of bed so I don’t know where the steps came from but I scored 98% on my sleep. There is a website where you track and enter info. You can set goals, list what you ate and it will track calories consumed and burned.

Well today just for fun I asked my husband to drive me up Rib Mountain so I could climb the look out tower and see how many flights of stairs it would track. To my surprise it even tracked the walk up the hill to the tower how does it do that? When I got to the top I had 18 flights of stairs. When I got home I had an email from FitBit. I earned my first badge.

How cool was that. By looking at the site I found I could earn another badge for 25 flights good thing we have stairs in the house so I ran up and down them a bunch of times and I got my second badge of the day before bed.

I did real well on my climbing 250 feet up. My total steps were only 4000 so far. They say you should aim for 10,000 per day. I’ll have to work up to that. FitBit also has a social side where you can make friends and compare scores. On our weight loss site they are walking across the US as a team virtually with FitBit.

So my first day using the FitBit has been a success. I got in more stairs than I would have. I’m having fun learning all the tools on the site and I think it will be a great tool to make my daily activity measurable and fun!

Update before I went to bed I just had to get a steps badge for 5000 steps I was only a few hundred steps away so I went walking around the house up and down stairs in circles. Glad noone was watching and I got to 5000 steps. Here’s my badge to prove it.

I never thought a little gadget likt this FitBit would have me walking all over the house at 11:30 pm just to get an email badge sent to me. Who knew something as simple as that could do so much?

Playground For Adults

Last year I discovered a new playground for adults. It’s called an RV
show. You start at one end of the building and climb onto and walk through each
trailer and then back down the steps and off into the next one. It takes about
2 hours of walking to do the entire show unless you stop and start talking with
a rep. In Wisconsin they are held indoors this time of year, so it doesn’t
matter what the weather is. We went to two big shows this year so far and hit a
smaller one on Saturday. We really are shopping for a new trailer but you don’t
have to be you can just go for the entertainment and exercise.

Then today Sunday my husband and I hit the trail with our snowshoes on.
Close to home we have a quarry trail part of the Rib Mt State Park and we spent
two hours hiking up to, then up and around the top of the quarry. It was a
perfect sunny winter day with no wind. The hike back down was a lot easier. I
always do the uphill first. That way what I remember last is the easy part. I
took a few pictures to share. I hate the word exercise I like to think of it as
a fun way to get out and take pictures.

These are all activities I would not and could not do before I lost 80 lbs. My life is so much different now then it was before. My husband is happy I now go on hikes and bike rides and get out more. He no longer has to go alone.

This weeks note from Natalie is an audio and a blog post. I
love learning from mentors and one of my favorites is Jim Rohn. Jim is no
longer alive but his teachings will live on forever and this is The Formula for
failure and Success.

Jim puts it simple, failure is nothing more than a few errors
in judgment repeated every day. He goes on to explain our thinking and habits
behind failing.

The formula for success is also simple it’s a few simple
disciplines practiced ever day.

THIS PROGRAM fits into this formula for success
perfectly by teaching you simple disciplines you practice ever day. The weight
loss results are almost immediate just like Jim said they would be.

Like Jim says “The real magic of new disciplines is that they
will cause is to amend our thinking.”

Now go and read the full post. Don’t just go and read it you have to take action because if you just go and read it you’re not going to be any further ahead until you do take the steps to make changes.

I wish you great success this week. Thanks bye bye.

The Formula for Failure and Success by Jim Rohn

Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. We do not fail overnight. Failure is the
inevitable result of an accumulation of poor thinking and poor choices. To put
it more simply, failure is nothing more than a few errors in judgment repeated
every day.

Now why would someone make an error in judgment and then be so foolish as to
repeat it every day? The answer is because he or she does not think that it
matters.

On their own, our daily acts do not seem that important. A minor oversight, a
poor decision or a wasted hour generally doesn’t result in an instant and
measurable impact. More often than not, we escape from any immediate
consequences of our deeds.

If we have not bothered to read a single book in the past ninety days, this
lack of discipline does not seem to have any immediate impact on our lives. And
since nothing drastic happened to us after the first ninety days, we repeat this
error in judgment for another ninety days, and on and on it goes. Why? Because
it doesn’t seem to matter. And herein lies the great danger. Far worse than not
reading the books is not even realizing that it matters!

Those who eat too many of the wrong foods are contributing to a future health
problem, but the joy of the moment overshadows the consequence of the future. It
does not seem to matter. Those who smoke too much or drink too much go on making
these poor choices year after year after year… because it doesn’t seem to
matter. But the pain and regret of these errors in judgment have only been
delayed for a future time. Consequences are seldom instant; instead, they
accumulate until the inevitable day of reckoning finally arrives and the price
must be paid for our poor choices—choices that didn’t seem to matter.

Failure’s most dangerous attribute is its subtlety. In the short term those
little errors don’t seem to make any difference. We do not seem to be failing.
In fact, sometimes these accumulated errors in judgment occur throughout a
period of great joy and prosperity in our lives. Since nothing terrible happens
to us, since there are no instant consequences to capture our attention, we
simply drift from one day to the next, repeating the errors, thinking the wrong
thoughts, listening to the wrong voices and making the wrong choices. The sky
did not fall in on us yesterday; therefore the act was probably harmless. Since
it seemed to have no measurable consequence, it is probably safe to repeat.

But we must become better educated than that!

If at the end of the day when we made our first error in judgment the sky had
fallen in on us, we undoubtedly would have taken immediate steps to ensure that
the act would never be repeated. Like the child who places his hand on a hot
burner despite his parents’ warnings, we would have had an instantaneous
experience accompanying our error in judgment.

Unfortunately, failure does not shout out its warnings as our parents once
did. This is why it is imperative to refine our philosophy in order to be able
to make better choices. With a powerful, personal philosophy guiding our every
step, we become more aware of our errors in judgment and more aware that each
error really does matter.

Now
here is the great news. Just like the formula for failure, the formula for
success is easy to follow: It’s a few simple disciplines practiced every
day.

Now here is an interesting question worth pondering: How can we change the
errors in the formula for failure into the disciplines required in the formula
for success? The answer is by making the future an important part of our current
philosophy.

Both success and failure involve future consequences, namely the inevitable
rewards or unavoidable regrets resulting from past activities. If this is true,
why don’t more people take time to ponder the future? The answer is simple: They
are so caught up in the current moment that it doesn’t seem to matter. The
problems and the rewards of today are so absorbing to some human beings that
they never pause long enough to think about tomorrow.

But what if we did develop a new discipline to take just a few minutes every
day to look a little further down the road? We would then be able to foresee the
impending consequences of our current conduct. Armed with that valuable
information, we would be able to take the necessary action to change our errors
into new success-oriented disciplines. In other words, by disciplining ourselves
to see the future in advance, we would be able to change our thinking, amend our
errors and develop new habits to replace the old.

One of the exciting things about the formula for success—a few simple
disciplines practiced every day—is that the results are almost immediate. As we
voluntarily change daily errors into daily disciplines, we experience positive
results in a very short period of time. When we change our diet, our health
improves noticeably in just a few weeks. When we start exercising, we feel a new
vitality almost immediately. When we begin reading, we experience a growing
awareness and a new level of self-confidence. Whatever new discipline we begin
to practice daily will produce exciting results that will drive us to become
even better at developing new disciplines.

The real magic of new disciplines is that they will cause us to amend our
thinking. If we were to start today to read the books, keep a journal, attend
the classes, listen more and observe more, then today would be the first day of
a new life leading to a better future. If we were to start today to try harder,
and in every way make a conscious and consistent effort to change subtle and
deadly errors into constructive and rewarding disciplines, we would never again
settle for a life of existence—not once we have tasted the fruits of a life of
substance!

snow and high winds running in and out of about 6 stores and stopping to fill
the car up with gas.

-

The crowds were heavy in about half the stores. Not many shoppers buying
office supplies or bath and bedding yesterday. Did I mention I hate shopping and
I also hate exercise put them together and it makes the perfect storm a lose,
lose situation. I lose money, patients, calories and time, I could be doing
something I do like to do.

-

So as I meandered down each aisle looking for that just right gift for each
person on my list in each store one common new product kept jumping out at me.
I swear they had this thing at ever store. I just want to say, from a person
that has lost 80 lbs and maintained it for two years now, this product is
getting my award for “Most Unhealthy Product Of The Year”.

-

OK you’ve waited long enough my award goes to (drum roll please) The
Emerson Motion Activated Candy Dispenser
.

Haven’t you seen this thing everywhere this year? It’s the must have gadget
of the season. Move over old fashioned gumball machines where you had to turn
the knob, now you just wave your hand and candy appears. Doesn’t this country
not already have a problem with eating too much sugar? Now this will just make
it easier for them. This product retails from $20-$50.00.

-

Here’s a product description: Entertain in style with
the Emerson Automatic Candy Dispenser. This intelligent candy dispenser not only
looks sleek, but includes a motion sensor which causes candy to dispense
automatically in perfect handfuls. Make movie nights even more special or
modernize your special events. With it’s ergonomic design, the Emerson Candy
Dispenser delivers hard candies, jelly beans, peanuts and more! Combines modern
technology with old time fun. Features 3 different portion settings. Dispenses a
range of snacks and candies. Requires 4 AA batteries (not included).

-

If you buy this product I’ll agree that the intelligent one will be the
candy dispenser and only it will look sleek. Good thing they added the 3
different portion settings because perfect handfuls are different for a child,
teen and adult. The only way this product could possible be a healthy choice is
if you filled it with peanuts set it to the smallest portion setting and only
waved your hand under it once a day. My guess that’s not going to happen. To
top it off batteries are NOT included.

-

On further thought, I think they are going after the wrong market. The
perfect market for a motion sensor candy dispenser is the front desk of a
restaurant in place of the bowl of pastel mints. A bowl of mints set out in a
public area is very unsanitary and after many studies they have nicknamed them
pee mints or ur _ _ _ mints. I don’t make this stuff up people.

-

My advice is if you are trying to stay on plan or keep your weight loss off
there are many healthy gift choices out there now go out and find some.

-

Now for a little Halloween advice.

The Doctor has info below but I have a few tricks of my own.

We all know Halloween is all about the CANDY right? So in order to change the focus I like to think of it as a few hours of exercise and make a game out of it. Each time I hear the door bell ring I jump up and run to the door and give them a candy treat as a thank you to those little ghosts and goblins for giving me a few extra steps in my day. Keep track of how many times you get up or how many kids come to the door or wear a pedometer and see how many steps you took. Our family tradition on Halloween was to have chili and THIS PROGRAM has chili so I never had to miss that longtime tradition.

Halloween doesn’t have to be SCAREY!

From The Doctor

When I think of Halloween I think of Candy!!! Loads of it…and that can be
scarier than the goblins toting it around!!! For those of us with a sweet
tooth…what is to become of us on Halloween night?! I don’t want to turn into the
fat lady!

Well, there are a few helpful tips to remember when your sweet
tooth is twitching…..

DO NOT buy any Halloween candy! Or, buy candy that you do not like. It isbetter to give out small packets of pretzels or play-do or fruit roll ups.

Keep in your mind that there will always be candy, but you are choosing toimprove your health right now, and candy will not help you reach your goal!

Make your own fudgesicles by freezing the chocolate shakes.

Freeze crystal light for a fruity, candy-like desert.

Sugar free jell-O is a great candy-like snack

Do not stay at home on Halloween handing out your treats. Instead, grab abottle of water and take a nighttime walk around the neighborhood to take in all

the ghoulish sights!

Bring healthy snacks to work (see Healthy Snack list) to keep from beingtempted by candy in the office.

Cut up a program bar and put it in a baggie. Freeze it for a sweet treatlater!

A great idea to help keep the piles of candy from going into your children’sbody…Have them pick out 5 pieces of candy out of their bag and “buy” the rest of

the bag from them for 10 dollars and then take them to the toy store to get a

prize! Remember to throw the bags of candy away or give to a shelter!!!!!!

Stay in touch with your Health Coach, he or she can help you stay strong

Remember, a great analogy is the concert pianist… If you were a child, and
you wanted to be a concert pianist (primary goal) you would need to practice
every day (secondary goal), and make choices that may not be your favorite (not
get to play with friends, travel, lessons, miss parties, miss play dates, etc…)
But… you would perform these secondary goals if it helps you to reach your
primary goal.

Well, we are doing the same thing… our primary goal is to lose weight and get
healthy. Some secondary goals are…exercise daily, drink water, stay away from
extra carbohydrates and starches, do not drink alcohol, possibly decide not to
go to some parties, and do not eat Halloween candy! And we will make these
secondary choices because it will help us to reach what is most important to us
right now… to lose weight, feel great, and to look and be
healthy!!
