Sunday, October 6th, 2013

Shane and Susan have lost 80 lbs total combined and kept it off for over 3 years and Shane’s blood pressure is now within a healthy range.  After Susan had their second child she tried to get back to her pre-pregnancy weight by exercising 5-6 days a week with little success and had lost hope believing this was her new reality.  This program has not only helped them get to a healthy weight…it has helped them create the lifestyle and habits to keep the weight off.  They are now thriving in all areas of their life and have the energy to be active with their kids…biking, swimming and on the fields coaching their sports teams!

Trouble getting in enough water for weight loss?

Tuesday, June 18th, 2013

I’m a health coach Natalie Jo and water is very important on this program.  You need a minium of 64 oz per day but half your body weight is even better. Many of my clients tell me they have trouble getting it all in.  They lose track or are too busy. Look what I just found.

The Sportline HydraCoach Intelligent Water Bottle is the world’s first
interactive water bottle that thinks while you drink! It calculates your
personal hydration needs, tracks your real-time fluid consumption, paces you
throughout the day and motivates you to achieve and maintain optimal hydration.
Doctors, Nutritionists and Fitness Trainers all recommend that we drink more
water yet there has never been a device to help individuals adhere to the
expert’s recommendations. The HydraCoach is a breakthrough in personal
hydration monitoring.

How cool is that? A water coach that motivates you to stay hydrated and tracks your progress. Check it out read the reviews and let me know what you think.

Vacation Exercise Me and My FitBit

Monday, August 20th, 2012

We ended each day with the sunset on top of Brockway MT.

I just got back from 1 week camping in Copper Harbor on the Keweenaw Peninsula in the UP of MI. I never hiked so much in my entire life. 80 lbs ago I would have never been able to do it.  My husband goes to CO every Sept to hike the 14’s but I stay home. So he is the expert.

On this trip I had my fitbit on everyday and we both did the same hikes just the two of us.  Most days we never saw another hiker.  We hiked different trails everyday. It’s a great place for hiking and biking.

Here are my totals for sun Aug 11th -19th

107,420 steps

554 floors up

47.78 miles

Plus 12 miles of bike riding the fitbit doesn’t add that in but I have a computer on the bike.

For some reason I thought the hiking was easier then the bike riding maybe because of the hills or wind.

My muscles or feet never hurt and each morning we got up and found new trails. We picked up a great book that helped us to locate each trail and yes we still did get lost some days but that made it exciting.

I’m not one to have fun exercising and some days the Mountains were no fun but I enjoy taking photos along the way. I’m very proud that I could do it am I’m thankful for the life I have now at goal over 2 1/2 years.

Here we hiked up a cliff to an old railroad bridge to get a good shot of the waterfall.

Here we biked to the beginning of HWY 41 where it starts In Copper Harbor UP MI and you can follow it 1990 miles all the way to the other end in Miami FL.

I loved it up there no cell reception unless you were on top of the MT. The internet reminded me of the good old days when you were kept waiting for every page to load.

I feel good on ThisWeight Loss Program

Saturday, March 17th, 2012

“It’s really important that you feel good. Because this  feeling good is what goes out as a signal into the universe and starts to  attract more of itself to you. So the more you can feel good, the more you will  attract the things that help you feel good and that will keep bringing you up  higher and higher.”
— Dr. Joe  Vitale:

When I started to change my eating habits my body started to change.  Then my mind and thoughts and attitude changed.  I felt great on this program.  My first thought was when I got to goal and transitioned off would I still feel good?

I’m happy to report that on the 15th I turned 51 and I have been at goal for 2 years and 2 months and I still feel good. I’m happy and still have energy and I’m enjoying my new life.

This program is so worth it.  You owe it to yourself and everyone around you to be the best you can be. Don’t let being overweight and not healthy define who you are or what you can do, if it’s in your hands to change it make the change and feel good about yourself and your life.

Exercise For The Weekend Playground For Adults

Playground For Adults

Last year I discovered a new playground for adults.  It’s called an RV
show.  You start at one end of the building and climb onto and walk through each
trailer and then back down the steps and off into the next one.  It takes about
2 hours of walking to do the entire show unless you stop and start talking with
a rep.  In Wisconsin they are held indoors this time of year, so it doesn’t
matter what the weather is. We went to two big shows this year so far and hit a
smaller one on Saturday. We really are shopping for a new trailer but you don’t
have to be you can just go for the entertainment and exercise.
Then today Sunday my husband and I hit the trail with our snowshoes on.
Close to home we have a quarry trail part of the Rib Mt State Park and we spent
two hours hiking up to, then up and around the top of the quarry.  It was a
perfect sunny winter day with no wind.  The hike back down was a lot easier.  I
always do the uphill first.  That way what I remember last is the easy part. I
took a few pictures to share. I hate the word exercise I like to think of it as
a fun way to get out and take pictures.
These are all activities I would not and could not do before I lost 80 lbs.  My life is so much different now then it was before.  My husband is happy I now go on hikes and bike rides and get out more. He no longer has to go alone.

This weeks note from Natalie is an audio and a blog post. I
love learning from mentors and one of my favorites is Jim Rohn.  Jim is no
longer alive but his teachings will live on forever and this is The Formula for
failure and Success.
Jim puts it simple, failure is nothing more than a few errors
in judgment repeated every day. He goes on to explain our thinking and habits
behind failing.
The formula for success is also simple it’s a few simple
disciplines practiced ever day.
THIS PROGRAM fits into this formula for success
perfectly by teaching you simple disciplines you practice ever day. The weight
loss results are almost immediate just like Jim said they would be.
Like Jim says “The real magic of new disciplines is that they
will cause is to amend our thinking.”
Now go and read the full post. Don’t just go and read it you have to take action because if you just go and read it you’re not going to be any further ahead until you do take the steps to make changes.
I wish you great success this week. Thanks bye bye.

The Formula for Failure and Success

Monday, February 27th, 2012
disclaimer “Results not typical. Typical results are up to 2-5 lbs per week.”
This has so much to do with dealing with the mental part of weight loss and
our failure or success that I wanted to post it somewhere I could find it
again.  It’s long but worth the read. Then you need to act on it. You just can’t
read it and forget or you won’t be any better off than before. THIS PROGRAM
will help with replacing a lot of your old bad habits. Daily
viewing successful before and after stories will help you focus on what your
future will look like. This program can change your entire life and I wish you
great success.

The Formula for Failure and Success by Jim Rohn

Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. We do not fail overnight. Failure is the
inevitable result of an accumulation of poor thinking and poor choices. To put
it more simply, failure is nothing more than a few errors in judgment repeated
every day.

Now why would someone make an error in judgment and then be so foolish as to
repeat it every day? The answer is because he or she does not think that it

On their own, our daily acts do not seem that important. A minor oversight, a
poor decision or a wasted hour generally doesn’t result in an instant and
measurable impact. More often than not, we escape from any immediate
consequences of our deeds.

If we have not bothered to read a single book in the past ninety days, this
lack of discipline does not seem to have any immediate impact on our lives. And
since nothing drastic happened to us after the first ninety days, we repeat this
error in judgment for another ninety days, and on and on it goes. Why? Because
it doesn’t seem to matter. And herein lies the great danger. Far worse than not
reading the books is not even realizing that it matters!

Those who eat too many of the wrong foods are contributing to a future health
problem, but the joy of the moment overshadows the consequence of the future. It
does not seem to matter. Those who smoke too much or drink too much go on making
these poor choices year after year after year… because it doesn’t seem to
matter. But the pain and regret of these errors in judgment have only been
delayed for a future time. Consequences are seldom instant; instead, they
accumulate until the inevitable day of reckoning finally arrives and the price
must be paid for our poor choices—choices that didn’t seem to matter.

Failure’s most dangerous attribute is its subtlety. In the short term those
little errors don’t seem to make any difference. We do not seem to be failing.
In fact, sometimes these accumulated errors in judgment occur throughout a
period of great joy and prosperity in our lives. Since nothing terrible happens
to us, since there are no instant consequences to capture our attention, we
simply drift from one day to the next, repeating the errors, thinking the wrong
thoughts, listening to the wrong voices and making the wrong choices. The sky
did not fall in on us yesterday; therefore the act was probably harmless. Since
it seemed to have no measurable consequence, it is probably safe to repeat.

But we must become better educated than that!

If at the end of the day when we made our first error in judgment the sky had
fallen in on us, we undoubtedly would have taken immediate steps to ensure that
the act would never be repeated. Like the child who places his hand on a hot
burner despite his parents’ warnings, we would have had an instantaneous
experience accompanying our error in judgment.

Unfortunately, failure does not shout out its warnings as our parents once
did. This is why it is imperative to refine our philosophy in order to be able
to make better choices. With a powerful, personal philosophy guiding our every
step, we become more aware of our errors in judgment and more aware that each
error really does matter.

here is the great news. Just like the formula for failure, the formula for
success is easy to follow: It’s a few simple disciplines practiced every

Now here is an interesting question worth pondering: How can we change the
errors in the formula for failure into the disciplines required in the formula
for success? The answer is by making the future an important part of our current

Both success and failure involve future consequences, namely the inevitable
rewards or unavoidable regrets resulting from past activities. If this is true,
why don’t more people take time to ponder the future? The answer is simple: They
are so caught up in the current moment that it doesn’t seem to matter. The
problems and the rewards of today are so absorbing to some human beings that
they never pause long enough to think about tomorrow.

But what if we did develop a new discipline to take just a few minutes every
day to look a little further down the road? We would then be able to foresee the
impending consequences of our current conduct. Armed with that valuable
information, we would be able to take the necessary action to change our errors
into new success-oriented disciplines. In other words, by disciplining ourselves
to see the future in advance, we would be able to change our thinking, amend our
errors and develop new habits to replace the old.

One of the exciting things about the formula for success—a few simple
disciplines practiced every day—is that the results are almost immediate. As we
voluntarily change daily errors into daily disciplines, we experience positive
results in a very short period of time. When we change our diet, our health
improves noticeably in just a few weeks. When we start exercising, we feel a new
vitality almost immediately. When we begin reading, we experience a growing
awareness and a new level of self-confidence. Whatever new discipline we begin
to practice daily will produce exciting results that will drive us to become
even better at developing new disciplines.

The real magic of new disciplines is that they will cause us to amend our
thinking. If we were to start today to read the books, keep a journal, attend
the classes, listen more and observe more, then today would be the first day of
a new life leading to a better future. If we were to start today to try harder,
and in every way make a conscious and consistent effort to change subtle and
deadly errors into constructive and rewarding disciplines, we would never again
settle for a life of existence—not once we have tasted the fruits of a life of

THIS PROGRAM Halloween Tricks

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Now for a little Halloween advice.

The Doctor has info below but I have a few tricks of my own.

We all know Halloween is all about the CANDY right? So in order to change the focus I like to think of it as a few hours of exercise and make a game out of it. Each time I hear the door bell ring I jump up and run to the door and give them a candy treat as a thank you to those little ghosts and goblins for giving me a few extra steps in my day. Keep track of how many times you get up or how many kids come to the door or wear a pedometer and see how many steps you took. Our family tradition on Halloween was to have chili and THIS PROGRAM has chili so I never had to miss that longtime tradition.

Halloween doesn’t have to be SCAREY!

From The Doctor

When I think of Halloween I think of Candy!!! Loads of it…and that can be
scarier than the goblins toting it around!!! For those of us with a sweet
tooth…what is to become of us on Halloween night?! I don’t want to turn into the
fat lady!

Well, there are a few helpful tips to remember when your sweet
tooth is twitching…..

  1. DO NOT buy any Halloween candy! Or, buy candy that you do not like. It isbetter to give out small packets of pretzels or play-do or fruit roll ups.
  2. Keep in your mind that there will always be candy, but you are choosing toimprove your health right now, and candy will not help you reach your goal!
  3. Make your own fudgesicles by freezing the chocolate shakes.
  4. Freeze crystal light for a fruity, candy-like desert.
  5. Sugar free jell-O is a great candy-like snack
  6. Do not stay at home on Halloween handing out your treats. Instead, grab abottle of water and take a nighttime walk around the neighborhood to take in all

    the ghoulish sights!

  7. Bring healthy snacks to work (see Healthy Snack list) to keep from beingtempted by candy in the office.
  8. Cut up a program bar and put it in a baggie. Freeze it for a sweet treatlater!
  9. A great idea to help keep the piles of candy from going into your children’sbody…Have them pick out 5 pieces of candy out of their bag and “buy” the rest of

the bag from them for 10 dollars and then take them to the toy store to get a

prize! Remember to throw the bags of candy away or give to a shelter!!!!!!

  10. Stay in touch with your Health Coach, he or she can help you stay strong

Remember, a great analogy is the concert pianist… If you were a child, and
you wanted to be a concert pianist (primary goal) you would need to practice
every day (secondary goal), and make choices that may not be your favorite (not
get to play with friends, travel, lessons, miss parties, miss play dates, etc…)
But… you would perform these secondary goals if it helps you to reach your
primary goal.

Well, we are doing the same thing… our primary goal is to lose weight and get
healthy. Some secondary goals are…exercise daily, drink water, stay away from
extra carbohydrates and starches, do not drink alcohol, possibly decide not to
go to some parties, and do not eat Halloween candy! And we will make these
secondary choices because it will help us to reach what is most important to us
right now… to lose weight, feel great, and to look and be
